What length poles do I need?
Our length calculator is designed to put your elbow just below a 90° angle—right where most skiers feel balanced.
But in the end, pole length is all about personal preference.
✅ Want a little more reach for rippin’ groomers? Size up 1–2 inches for that classic 90° feel.
✅ Skiing tight trees or the park? Some folks like going shorter.
Are your old poles the right length? - stick with what works. Grab a tape measure and check from the top of the grip to the bottom of the tip to get the real measurement.
Is there a right/left pole?
Yes. The copper rivet is meant to be on the left side, while the nickel rivet (the lighter colored one) is intended for the right.

These poles are sick….every detail is dialed. Sweetest piece of gear I own now.
I bought these Double-Barrel SkiBambooz poles for this spring pass on Mt. Hood. Wish I would have done so much earlier. Every other chair ride is a conversation and a celebration with strangers, sharing libation and enthusiasm. Once skiing, they are weighted perfectly, super durable, and very comfortable. If you need some swag to make skiing even more fun, this is a no brainer.
Love 'em!! These poles are just so much fun :) Bought a pair of the Straight and Narrow for my son too.
