The Cascades get A LOT of snow, and most of the skiing is on volcanos so the views are always epic. Sometimes the snow can be "heavy" because of the proximity to the Pacific Ocean....but that's why we get so much.

The upper bowl in a snowstorm is a the best skiing in Oregon. It's an old school double chair, so the doesn't get skied out. And it's open for the best night skiing in America.
The mid-mountain hut is the best in Oregon. Historic, old, and tight.
Mt. Hood Meadows: The Advanced Terrain Champion
Location: Mount Hood, Oregon
For serious skiers craving advanced terrain, Mt. Hood Meadows is where it's at. With some of the most consistently challenging runs in Oregon, Meadows offers the kind of experience that keeps you wanting more. Heather Canyon is the crown jewel—an adrenaline-inducing zone that features steep lines, natural obstacles, and all the thrilling drops you could dream of.
The mountain consistently delivers epic conditions, making it a favorite for those who take their skiing seriously. With smooth groomed runs and untouched powder stashes, you’ll find the best of both worlds here. The vibe is energetic, perfect for those looking to charge hard and push their limits.
Anthony Lakes: The Mom-and-Pop Escape
Location: Near Baker City, Oregon
If you’re seeking an alternative to the hustle of the bigger resorts, Anthony Lakes is a breath of fresh air. This charming mom-and-pop destination is perfect for those who want to ski without the crowds. The laid-back vibe here feels like stepping back in time, where you can enjoy the slopes at your own pace.
The backcountry access is the best in Oregon and there is guided CAT skiing based out of the lodge. Another plus...you can park your RV 40ft the lift and spend a long weekend with the crew.
With stunning views of the surrounding mountains and a close-knit community, Anthony Lakes offers a unique experience that celebrates the spirit of skiing. The small but mighty ski area is perfect for families and casual skiers, where everyone feels welcomed. After a day of shredding, you can enjoy homemade meals in the lodge—there’s nothing like a hearty lunch before heading back out for a few more runs.
Timberline Lodge: Chill but Not Thrill
Location: Mount Hood, Oregon
Timberline Lodge is undeniably cool with its stunning architecture and historical significance. Still, it can feel a little too tame for seasoned ripping skiers looking for a challenge. It offers solid terrain and breathtaking views, but the vibe can lean toward the relaxed side, especially if you’re jonesing for that heart-pounding adrenaline rush.
While Timberline’s Palmer Glacier allows for summer skiing, many hardcore shredders find themselves craving more intensity than what’s available. It still has its merits—perfect for those looking to enjoy the scenery and get a few casual runs in without feeling stressed. It’s a great spot to soak in the beauty of Oregon's natural surroundings while enjoying some laid-back fun.
Mount Bachelor: The All-Around Rock Star
Location: Near Bend, Oregon
Mount Bachelor is nothing short of a rock star in the Oregon ski scene. With 4,318 acres of skiable terrain, it’s the largest resort in the state and a must-visit for any winter sports enthusiast. Bachelor gets the award for "Best Snow" in Oregon. The high desert effect really dries the powder out.
It's also a "family mountain" from beginner runs to gnarly off-piste adventures. Bend and Bachelor cater the family experience.
